I have heard some speculations about upcoming replacement for Canon eos
300d. Has anyone anything to add to start a good rumourmill?!

Maybe this fall. Canon has no real reason to change the Digital Rebel (300D)
as they have dropped the price to counter their competition. Due to the
economy of scale Canon can now sell this camera for about $1,000 CDN down
from $1,600 CDN a year ago.

Let's hope the same scaling happens to the Maxxum 7D

I told the KM rep the "package" was stupid, I've ben breaking kits since day
1... KM-Canada now has dropped the kit price from $2600 CDN to $2200 CDN.
BUt they are still shipping with the vertical grip and flash.

I would expect they (KM) will smarten up soon.

I've made it clear under what conditions I'll buy.  And I have had one quote
well below the $2200.00... but not low enough.  Still, the stores here can't
keep them on the shelf.

Cheers,
Alan

In Dixons in London I have seen the EOS 300D on sale and also
something called the EOS 300DBD for about the same price.  The shop
display didn't say anything useful about the difference and I couldn't
find documentation for the 300DBD on the web.

The 300D is sometimes referred to as the EOS300DBD, the BD is short
for body as opposed to the lens kit.
