I've been using Photoshop Elements 2.0 successfully for some weeks to edit
jpeg images from my Nikon D70 SLR (firmware version 2.00). I recently
changed the camera setup to use the AdobeRGB colourspace. However, the
resulting images are reported as 'untagged' by PSE2.
- Is this a problem in PSE2 or the Nikon images?
- Do I have to manually save the images in PSE2 specifiying the AdobeRGB
profile (with the camera default sRGB colourspace the profile was already
embedded in the image)
- I haven't installed any of the supplied Nikon s/w (PictureProject,
NikonCapture). Is this s/w needed to solve this issue?

IIRC, you need to use Nikon View software to open the files from the camera,
and even then you must also change a default setting in the software. I
can't remember the details now, but it is on the Nikon website under the
FAQ's somewhere.

First if using aRGB with jpeg, make sure you have up to date firmware in
the camera. The next to last update issued addressed and issue of
improperly tagging aRGB saved in camera to jpeg. In PSE just specify the
color space. I don't use PSE2, but am trying out PSE3 and if it doesn't
recognize a profile it asks what to use, choose aRGB at this point.
