canon ex flash and Nikon digitals

Can a canon ex flash unit work at all with nikon prosumer digital cams?

    I would *guess* that it could be used in manual exposure mode,
but certainly not in the iTTL mode.  Not even the older Nikon flash
units (such as the SB-28) will work TTL with something like the D70.

    Which Nikon cameras are you labeling "prosumer"?
