Street and documentary photography

Hi there,
what are the most common cameras/lenses for street, documentary and
photojournalism work? (including war reportage)

I don't really know this field so I wonder what kind of equipment is
best suit for it.

For Phoj's today it's Canon.  

I suggest you get a copy of the DVD "War Photographer" and see what he
uses.
