Hope springs eternal, the saving grace of humanity: "... wait'll *next*
time/year/etc!".  Without that, we'd be hard put to survive the crush of
failed expectations.

But!  This year is the first year of the rest of your life; make of it
what you will.  Get lemons?  Make lemon-aid and drink up!  They say
Success is getting what you want, and Happiness is liking what you get.
Better the latter without the former than the former without the latter,
I figure.

Least mine didn't get anybody killed, I hope.  Maybe it really will be a
better year, who knows...
