I need to start stamping my prints for identification. Are there different
types of stamp and inks to consider?
Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the stamps; I *would* worry about the inks.

Any system of knowledge that is capable of listing films in order
of use of the word "f.ck" is incapable of writing a good summary
and analysis of the Philippine-American War. And vice-versa.
This is an inviolable rule.

Poliethylene or paper base? For PE/RC I use
Norris ART NO. 199 and ART NO. III like on:
http://www.rse.co.za/NORIS.htm
Stamp I use standard.
But I have no idea about archival characteristics.

One of those inks is advertised as penetrating deeply. Somehow that doesn't
seem to be what's wanted.

Yes - it's should be not used on paper base because it could damage print.
But it works well on RC/PE where more important is to use ink which is
smudge proof, scratchproof and instant drying.

I seem to recall an ink that could be used for "PROOF"
stamps for the front of RC prints--Rexton is one maker.
