I have some old 128 roll film that I want to develop. I need to know
what type of reel will work for this film. Do any of the adjustable
reels accept this size?
thanks

My first camera was my dad's Flash Bantam 828 and I recall using 35mm
reels to develop. I had an old Ansco beginner's kit with an
expandable reel system but I think I was able to just run it on the
35mm setting. This was 40 years back so please forgive the foggy
memories! Surprising quality came from the little rig, though.

My memory isn't as bad as my comprehension skills.... I just now
noticed the 128 subject! Sorry.

It will fit on Patterson plastic reels, not sure about SS.

828 is 35mm wide it's the physical construction of the film that is slightly
different. One sprocket hole per frame, on one side only, tight little
spool and a paper backing. Image size is 28x40mm (that's where the "28" in
828 comes from) so any 35mm reel will work but if it's old film it probably
has a wicked tight curl so I would plan on processing in open trays.
Somewhere I saw a link to a way to cut down 120 film to use in these old
cameras that will work in any 828 that uses red windows to wind to the next
frame, if the camera uses only an auto-stop mechanism that requires the
index holes between frames, you may be SOL.
BTW Kodak did this same thing a second time with 126, 35mm wide, one
sprocket hole per frame and 26x26mm images.

Are you looking at 128 or 828?
128 is sized between 127 and 120. If you have an adjustable
plastic reel you may be able to slide it 'off notch' to take
the film.
828 is 35mm film without the perfs and with a paper backing.
828 has one perf hole between frames for registration.
