Which tank is the more user friendly for processing 4x5 B&W sheet film?
A couple I have considered are the Combi-plan & a 2521 +2509N reel.
I have just bought an old MPP Mk VIII camera outfit and I want to try it
out.
LF is  new to me, so advice would be very much appreciated.

When I started (about a year ago), also with an MPP (but a MkVI), I used an
old Cibachrome drum which I'd bought years ago in a Cibachrome starter kit.
It's fine for 5x4 single sheets of B&W (at room temp) and uses little
chemistry, ~25ml, per sheet.
I've moved on to Provia 100F and I now take my films to a local E6 lab as
there's no way I could use this style of drum in my 38degC tempering bath.
What lenses are you using?  150 Xenar f4.5?

I have to agree... on the few occasions when I shoot 4x5 sheet film, I use
my old Unicolor drum. It holds 4 sheets and specs 2 ounces of chemistry
(that assumes no leaks, perfectly level surface to roll it on).

If you're only developing a couple sheets at a time, one of the print drums
should work well. Or you could learn to embrace the dark and tray process!
