cam.misc is a news group to do with Cambridge, England. It is nothing to
do with photography. See the FAQ (URL in my .sig below) for more

cam.misc is a *city* of Cambridge group. The university has its own
hierarchy - ucam.*. Most of the regulars in cam.misc are gainfully employed,
and even though many were students at Cambridge, it was a long time ago in
many/most cases.
Speaking as someone who reads a number of photography groups, as well as
cam.misc (since I live and work in Cambridge), I can say that the group does
get a number of posts from people who think it's either something to do with
webcams, or part of the ca.* (Canada) hierarchy, and this is sometimes a bit
irritating.
Anyway, this is getting somewhat offtopic, so I'll stop now.
