No reason to get abusive.
I just get curious about oddball emulsions from different parts of the
world.
I have bulk loaders with Agfapan 400 and Ilford Pan F.
This doesnt stop me getting curious about other films, especially if they
have something different to offer.
The Chinese film has unusual behaviour which would lead me to use it in a
old Soviet Smena 6 compact.

It also breaks in the middle of the roll?
I have a Smena #?, the $15.95 one, and the lens is bloody good, shutter
works, aperture and focus are fine and it has sunny-16 engraved on the
lens barrel. If the body didn't spontaneously shatter and fly apart it
would be a good choice for teaching photography in schools.

I think that the problems with the shutter are because the Soviets regarded
quality control as a depraved Capitalist idea they'd have nothing to do
with. I haven't used the Smena that much because i've got a whole bunch of
cameras.
You need a reloadable casette to serve as take-up spool.
You keep the whole casette so the film does not need rewinding. I do believe
that the later Smenas had a rewind but mine certainly doesn't.
I also purchased the BLIK ranngefinder to go with it.
The lens is a triplet, a mild wide angle as most compacts are.
The lens is soft in the outer field at wider apertures, which you can use to
advantage.
The Chinese film is very prone to halation around bright areas, like the sky
because it isn't back coated

It's his raison d'etre.

Me too. Curiosity good. My last experiment was with some very outdated Tura
120 film, which gave me pretty good results, considering, but also some very
strange artifacts: weird bubble-like spots here and there.

Yes, that halation sounds interesting: something you can't get with most other
films, with their anti-halation coatings. Could result in some cool-looking
images.

It's a good guess that one of two things is going to happen in the
coming days and weeks: Either Bolton goes down—-or we start learning
a lot of unpleasant things about Sen. George Voinovich.
