What's your favorite cassettes for winding bulk film rolls and
why ?
I just tried some Kodak Snap Caps and believe me they're not
nearly as good as they used to be. They're virtually impossible to get
closed properly and certainly not easily.
Any experience with Freestyles cassettes ?

I've had good luck with Freestyle cassettes, both for my own use and in
teaching high school photography. Not the finest fit and finish, but
reliable and durable.

I have a about 50 old Ilford cassettes left from before they crimped the
ends and another form various loaders of house brands of C-41 all much
better than the stuff they sell now. Snap caps OK but hard to get the caps
on and only good for about 5 rolls before the caps get too loose to rely on.
I put tally marks on my cassettes and retire them from circulation after
5-10 rolls. The Freestyle, Kalt, etc. offerings go from very good to very
bad, you never know the source.
