focus problems

can anyone help me solve a problem?  i have a beseler 23c enlarger and am
having a difficult time getting my 35mm negatives to focus when trying to
print 11x14s. i cant even get the negatives to fill up my easel. any
solution?

Which lens are you using?

using a 75mm lens

First question: what lens are you using? If you're using a lens with a focal
length longer than 50mm (~2"), you may have trouble cranking the head up high
enough to get a large enough image.

Also, do you have the condenser set to the right negative size? That's the
knob just behind the lamphouse: it needs to be all the way to the top (look
for the scale with the topmost marking of "8, 16, 35mm").

thanks for your tip. i changed my lens to 50mm and the problem was solved.
