The shop I usually get my stuff from has got a very limited range of stuff
in now, so, being as I pass the Tetenal office every week, I think I'll be
trying their chemical when I next need to restock.
Has anyone got any good/bad views on their chemicals?
I'll be doing mainly Ilford Delta 400 films, and a range of multgrade
papers.
Thanks
Alan.

I use both Tetenal film (process C-41) and paper (RA-4) chemistry in my
Darkroom. I am very satisfied with the results so go ahead and use it.
Recommended.

I use Tetenal frequently. Ultrafin Plus is perfect for Delta 400 and
Eukobrom gives excelent results with Ilford Multigrade Express and DeLuxe
papers.

I "was" a Tetenal user -- but found a place nearby (Unique Photo) which
carries the Kodak C41 and RA4 chemistry in gallon and 5 gallon quantities --
and the price was lower. Tetenal quality is very good, I switched for
"cheaper" -- going from litre to gallon.

Haven't used their B&W chem yet, but their E6, C41, and RA are quite
good. If you decide to get it, don't miss their "first-time chem user"
discount. Something like 50%. Go to their web www.jobo-usa.com ->
analog -> product -> blah-blah -> "first-time user discount program".
They have two E6: one 3-bath type, one 6-bath-type. I've used both,
didn't noticed the result difference, but decided to stay with the
6-bath. Simply because it's more "conventional". I've read from the new
group that the 3-bath may be less desirable for Fuji's Velvia, but it
seemde never get second, and Jobo denied it. A good thing about the
Tentenal E6 is, it's reusable, unlike Kodak's current E6 that is for
one-shot only. You probably get more roll per gallon from Tentenal.
They have 3 or more types of RA, I've used the 10-litter package type
for my desktop roller processor. It's very economical, replentish rate
is about 10-cc per 8x10 print. Compared to Kodak's RA, I found it
produced less contrast prints, that helped to keep details in both the
dark and the highlight. However, The college that I took the color
photography class prefered the Kodak for the same reason.
Their C41 is also very good. I didn't notice its the difference
compared to Kodak. I used it mainly because it has more convenient
package. If I remember it right, they had liquid packages for mixing to
1-lit, 2.5-lit, and 1-gal (or 5-lit?). They also has the powdered
package for mixing to 1-lit. Very convenient for traveling.

We use our own brand RA4 chem at work, my boss was telling me about
Tetenal last week.
Apparently their RA4 chem is half the price of ours(which we supply for
our own mini-labs), so our customers are starting to use Tetenal. When our
sales reps heard about it, they started telling the customers that you
need to increase the dosing rate on the Tetenal to double the previous
amount - total bollocks of course, but some of them did do it, and came
back to our chem as it costs less to get rid of our waste - half as much
waste!
