I have used kodafix at the recommended dillution.
My Fuji Acros is still slightly pink, even after 6 minuntes in fixer
solution.
Does this pink cast degrade negs at all even though it is correctly fixed?
Recommendations?

No, it does not do anything to your negs nor does it affect your
prints. It's not even consistent from batch to batch of film. It's
only a dye, but doesn't appear to affect anything negatively. Running
your film through a washing aid like Perma Wash after your fixer will
take most of it out. You don't need six minutes in fixer. If you use a
Rapid Fix like NAACO or Ilford, two minutes will do nicely.

Actually, you might be "overfixing" at 6 minutes, meaning that you might be
needing more wash to get out the residual fixer. If you are testing your
fixer, two minutes is surely enough.

It also has to be very fresh.

10 minutes is sometimes required.

The pink may not be uniform if it is only half washed out, it is
often a deeper pink in the middle resulting in a lightish area down
the middle of the print.
The pink cast will alter the effects of VC filters.

Try 20ml of the fix concentrate in whatever volume
of solution you need; fresh fix to be used once. Allow
five minutes with some regular agitation.
Takes all the pink out of my Pan F+. Dan

Kodafix is a rapid fixer. At 1:3 it should fix out
tabular grain films in six minutes but check the clearing
time with a scrap of the film. Soak the scrap in water for
about 2 minutes and see how long it takes to clear. Fixing
time is double the clearing time.
Its possible that Acros suffers from the same problem
Kodak T-Max does: having a persistent sensitizing dye.
Supposedly, this dye will be released if the film is fixed
for long enough but there may be other factors than residual
silver binding it. Try treating the film with Kodak Hypo
Clearing Agent, as directed, and washing. KHCA will release
the chemical bonds between both residual silver and the
bound dye to the silver image and gelatin. It will
completely eliminate the residual stain on T-Max and will
probably do so here.
The dye stain is uniform and very light. If the film is
not completely fixed the stain will be stronger and may be
blotchy. If there is a lot of halide left the emulsion will
be turbid. You can refix if necessary but I think the wash
aid will do the trick.
As to the effect of residual sensitizer stain on VC
paper, I've never seen a spectral density measurement of the
stain so its pretty hard to tell. I think the effect, if
present, is very slight.
