I'm looking for some Phenolic Aldehyde resin, having great trouble
sourcing the stuff.

I've been informed that this (or a very similar substance) is used in
darkrooms.  Perhaps something like pyrogallol?

Any advice would be met with tremendous appreciation.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a casting compound to me. Are you putting us on? Look under
epoxy. Do a Google. It is not like pyrogallol. It's probably used in the
construction of darkroom sinks and developer tanks.

Yes, that is the idea.

I'm not sure.  What do you mean?

I've done extensive googling, but I can't find the right info.  It
seems to be similar to the old Bakelite resin, but I can't find
anywhere that supplies the stuff.

Thanks.

You can't buy it because it is a solid mass. You have to make it just
before use  from phenol and formaldehyde. Both ingredients are toxic.
I would not use it unless you have had some training in chemistry.
There are other casting compounds available which may be suitable for
your  application. Do a Google search.
