Anyone know who manufactures J & C classic 200 and 400 film?  Or are
they actually producing things themselves from old formulas?  Or what
known and current films they are most like?

According to the Foto Impex catalog (they're the Berlin Photography
store/company that J&C markets in the US), the Classic films are made for
them in Hungry.  That leads me to believe they're made by someone other than
Foma (Czech Rep) or Efke (Croatia).   Both the Classic 200 and 400 are ,
well, what they say, classic emulsion and not T-Grain.  I have not used
either, but am awaiting an order of 4X5 in both flavors.  Hey, where else
can you get 25 sheets of film for less than 12 bucks!

If you're looking for tech data and/or development data, then follow this
link.  It's in German, however, the development charts and the sensitivity
curves read the same in any language.

Yup.  Never thought of Forte.  Makes sense, I checked my Forte chemical and
paper stock, and sure enough, made in Hungry.  Somehow, I thought Forte was
French... seriously.

Hungry is a state of being in which one feels the need for food.
Hungary is a country in Europe.

Stupid spell checker.  I once wrote a report to a military officer and
relied on a spell checker.  Ever wonder what comes out of a spell checker
when you type "warehouse" as "wharehouse"?  Needless to say, I should have
learned my lesson.  (change the 'a' to an 'o')

Come to think of it - I am hungry ;~)

Does this mean you're anti-Semanitic?? ;)

Yes, it seems right but, the French have no forte in the making of film.
They are pretty good at making the Arca Swiss! Confusing.
