Hi,

A while ago, someone recommended Barry Thornton's book "Edge of Darkness".
I'd just like to say a big thank you to whoever that recommendation came
from.

After I first picked it up and started reading, I didn't want to put it
down, even though I had to for work :-(.
It describes, in a very personal way, how over many years he learnt, adapted
and built on existing photographic techniques, to find a way of working that
suited him.
I found it to be a great read.
I'm sure many of the visitors here would enjoy it, even if you already know
and understand the technical content (which I don't) or if you don't go
along with his aims and conclusions.

Hi,

Thank you for this information. I agree about the value of "Edge of
Darkness." Along similar lines, I would like to recommend "Larry
Barlett's Black and White" - a great book detailing Larry Barlett's
printing techniques.

Best,

Bartek Plichta
