B&W Fixer in C-41 SRS Systems?

Is it possible (well, smart, at least) to dump silver-saturated black
and white fixer into an SRS system designed for C-41? I work at a local
photo lab and I'd like to be environmentally conscious, too.

Check the specs on the system. Some work better with B&W fixer mixed in. If
it was specifically "designed for C-41", it might not be a good idea.

From the instruction manual for Drew Refining Co Model BFSR-60/120: "When
other types of fix are mixed with NR Bleach Fix, the plating performance of
an electrolytic system improves..."
