I have this strange problem with APX 400 film: ON THE NEGATIVE I get
tiny DENSE spots with THIN HALOS. On the print it's tiny white dot
with dark halo.
The strange thing is I only get this problem with APX 400 + TMAX 1:9.
I got it on two different occasions on 5 rolls. I don't get it with
APX 400 and Rodinal 1+50 nor with TMAX 1:9 with any other film!
I use stainless steel tanks, agitate for the first one minute and then
10 agitations every miniute. After each agitation I leave the small
cap open to let the bubbles out.

Any explaination?

If it's a white dot it could be a pinhole. Usually caused by too strong
a stop bath in the mix. Using water can be a good way stop development
otherwise lessen your concentration.

Thanks for your reply Nicholas,
It´s a white dot with darker halo ON THE PRINT. I don´t use stop bath,
I use water and fix in alkaline fixer. Never had this problem unless
with this particular film-dev. combo.!
