Is there a webpage that summarizes the characteristics of various
developers?

I googled but didn't find much.

Well, I had a look. Here are a couple:

http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.html

Dag Nystuen, who runs a mail order company specializing in darkroom
supplies in Norway, has some quite good material at

http://www.fotoimport.no/

Most of it is in Norwegian, but even so it should be possible to glean
a fair bit of information from it.

You should get the book, "The Film Developing Cookbook" by Anchell and
Troop. It is worth the price.

I find this page interesting:

http://www.imx.nl/

At the bottom of the page, see Film basics and B&W films (and devs).

A cursory review of the above website reveals that the author does not
understand the difference between sharpness and resolving power. Also,
results are published only for a single development time (even the contrast
results), when anyone should know that contrast can be altered for any
film/development combination by altering the development time.

I summary, I find the website above to be provide seriously misleading or
false information.
