I want to make my own developers where are the places to order from in North
America. I'm in Canada. There's a guy who sells a lot on ebay does he really
have the goods or are there better and cheaper outlets elsewhere? Thx.

Which guy on Ebay? If it's Fotochem then he is great.

His 10lb bag of hypo and sodium sulfite on Ebay are a good deal but some
of the other things are no more expensive direct from him. Do a search for
comments on Fotochem. You'll likely find a lot of positive responses.

He wants ~$20/10 lb + ~$10 shipping --> $3 / lb.

It is available locally at $52 / 50 lb, or about $1/lb.  Try 'aquaculture'
(pond) stores and swimming pool supply houses.

But then I have to buy 50lbs. 10 lbs lasts me quite awhile-) Those big
bags are nice but just too big for me.

But the Hypo that Fotochem sells is the non-hydrated form, so you need
only 62% of what you need when you buy the pentahydrate form.

The Fotochem site recommended by others is probably your best deal.  I
surveyed all of the sources I could find last year before restocking my
depleted inventory of basic chemicals for B&W and color.  Fotochem/Johnny
Deture was the best deal, even with shipping from Canada.  Also, he carrys a
number of items which are not listed on his site and he is willing to
provide larger or small quantities then listed without extra handling
charges.  Finally, if you have any questions, you can just call him.

Johnny in Montreal remains a Canadian's best bet. Good selection, good
service, and no customs. Otherwise, Photogapher's Formulary in Montana.
