I bought a used Beseler dichro g color head.  When I went in the other room,
the kids turned it on for about three minutes without the fan running.
Should I be worried about any heat damage to the internal filters from this?

They are pretty heat resistant but you might want to pop the hatch on
it and take a look at them. Any melting from the heat will be evident.
My advise is to rearrange the plugs so the blower has to be turned on
to power up the head. Plug the timer into the outlet on the blower, so
the lamp is run from that. This will prevent a recurrence of that
problem.
