This post is off-topic for this newsgroup, rec.photo.equipment.35mm,
which is concerned with film cameras that use 35mm film, not digital
cameras that look like 35mm SLRs (DSLRs).

Since this post concerns such cameras, the appropriate place for it is
rec.photo.digital.slr. Please post there in the future.

Any P&S can t\do a crappy shot like that. Boring direct flash, boring
central composition! You don't need a $5500 CAD dSLR to shot that, it's just
a snapshot.

"Rita" may or may not own same. He posts for kicks and attention, just
to see all of us "dance to his tune". He's too superior to us to post
anything but crappy to mediocre shots.

Nonsense.  Rita's been 'Hip-Mo-Tized', made into a Manchurian
Candidate zombie slave by Ken Rockwell in an effort to prove his
contention that for some photographers, $150 cameras will meet their
needs just as well as $5,000 cameras.

I'm really touched that you like it so much.  You see, this isn't any
ordinary snapshot that pushed the old D3 to the limit as the lighting was
very tricky and challenging.  No flash was used as this was shot under
halogen lighting.  Look at the shadowing.   The composition was intricate at
best.  I had a few choices that would have given it that artsy fartsy look,
but that wasn't my goal as this was destined for Usenet.  Plus, this carving
needs to be shown in its full size.
