<YAWN>  Ospreys Love The D3!!

It's true.  I went on my midmorning beach walk down by the Chesapeake
to see how my Osprey family is doing.  Well, they are doing great and
getting bigger by the day.  Fortunately I had the D3 and my trusty
Formidable 500 with me.  I was able to capture the full impact of the four
chicks getting fed and the male coming in for a landing.  I tell ya!  I
don't think any other camera and lens combination could capture this
splendor with such sharpness, tight DoF, and creamy bokeh.

Ouch.  I'm surprised "Rita" would post crap like this.

Nikon would be embarrassed.

You haven't looked at her other pics then, or it would be no surprise.

I don't think they'll be chasing Rita for advertising shots, that for sure
:-)

Use a tripod. Spot meter. Clean your sensor.

And, if her lens is as good as shed claims, she should learn to focus.
Ospreys are feathered creatures, not fuzzy ones.

Why the Hell didn't you zoom with your feet?

That's pretty shitty for 1000mm.  Here's one at 200mm:

Game, set, match, country, world, universe...

The debate's not over until people stop responding to the troll.

Oh I dunno.
I take your point - but - if the "debate" inspires the posting of shots like
Bret's ospreys then I'm happy.

So's the bird, apparently:

Bret's been posting his pics for years. Long before the troll showed up.

Long before the troll David J. Littlemember showed up."

I did and they got wet.  I was up to my nipples in cold bay water.

LOL!  You're not kidding, considering it was almost 300' away.  It hooked a
whole school of idiots, though.  I like your 200mm shot, but any old kit
lens can do that from 12' away in the petting zoo where you took that shot.
You should have used a LensBaby for that shot.

Another crappy out-of focus and motion-blurred example of "Rita-Crap".

You are really making a fool of yourself, you know?

Most likely not...

Yegawds!
That's gotta be a 40D shot!

LOL!  I had the old D3 set to "Canon Intermediate Mode" by accident.  This
is the sh.t Bret sees before working it for an hour in Photoshop.

And here is the pic Rita wanted to post, but alas, he had neither the
talent nor the equipment.

And that was a scanned slide, not even the quality of an awesome 40D
shot, but every once in awhile ya gotta go retro.

amazing!  a shot that shows a little bit of reality
and motion, instead of the usual "40d plastic fantastic"!
Astia, eh?  Go easy on the cyan, it can get
overwhelming with that film.  Glad to see
you choosing a good sensor, for once.

The wing blur makes it very dynamic.  I like this better than most of
the rest of the Osprey shots.

Well I know the passion for the D3 and the 40D, but I took this about 2
years ago with my lowly D70 + 80-400 VR, which I still have to support
my new D300.
