Yes folks, it seems Geocities was getting tired of all the hits I've been
getting from my loyal fans and felt I should upgrade to one of their "paid"
accounts. The cog suggers decided to throttle my bandwidth back. Well,
fugg them, I got me a new free hosting site with 100GB of download
bandwidth.
So, without further ado, I give you my first pic without anymore timeouts!
This is the pic you should have seen from "Catching A Whisper At ISO-2800 As
Only The D3 Can!!"

yeah, photobucket ain't half bad.
one thing: that looks like it is
slightly overexposed. Maybe it's
just my film-trained eye, but it looks
1/3 to 1/2 stop over. Or perhaps not
as saturated as I'd expect.
Anyways, just nit-picking.

I'll give photobucket a try and see how my fans respond to the change. It
will take some getting used to the interface, but if the timeouts stop it
will be worth it.
As for the pic, it is right out of the camera and pretty much untouched
except for resize to 1024 and save for web. It was a crappy and gloomy day
so the background isn't the prettiest, would have loved a blue sky and more
light. I have the camera settings as neutral as possible. And at ISO-2800
you know it was dark out.

you mean you don't PS the heck
out of your photos to make them
look like they were taken by
a P&S?
Shame on you!
LOL!

Now that is a nice capture.
Those guys are hard to find settled in one place and not moving. What
you normally get from them is a flash of wings just as you trip the
shutter.
Speed counts.

Thanks. You're not kidding about them being fast. I tried to time a shot
of him kicking off and starting his launch, but all I got was tail feathers
as he went behind the tree. Talk about agility!

True, I don't think our reflexes are quick enough to keep up. I now realize
it is better to anticipate their moves and hope.
