I love how all her pictures are "best viewed full size to be awed by the D3's magical properties," yet full size is almost invariably less than one megapixel (1024x768 in this case). I bet my bottom $ that she/he would have done as well with a simple outfit, say a Canon D20 or Nikon D 70 (note, older models), both with a good lens, not necessarily a higly pro one. Please read his comment... As for catching the right moment, no doubt, but I doubt it's simply the hardware and THAT was my point. Then, let's face it, those shots are also a matter of luck. Had I taken that shot with a 40D I would have to spend 45-minutes, like "Helen" oops I mean Bret, with a pirated copy of CS3 and apply some Tennessee bokeh to it. I can't wait till the new D3 firmware is released. I asked Nikon to add a setting for "Baltimore Bokeh" and an option to make these razor sharp Nikkors as dull as L glass. Manufacturers love to play games with words. Weatherproof usually means it will withstand some rain, maybe a splash or two. Waterproof usually gives a rating to a specific full submersion depth, like 3m underwater. I'd say that camera must be waterproof because my D200 is "weatherproof" but I wouldn't go swimming with it under a waterfall. None, except the fact that cruising in different cars isn't the same as photographing with different cameras. The first thing that strikes me is that the effect of cruising in different cars is directed to yourself. The effect of using a different camera is extrinsic. The old Z4 is getting really long in the tooth and doesn't hold a shine like it used to. It's still a fun car, but I think this spring I'll be getting something a bit powerful and handles the curves better.
