no I don't want to start on ebay to much of a buyers nightmare and its
only ebay that makes the profit.

Why bother when you can buy a complete ex Gov P4 2.4Ghz Compaq with keyboard
and optical mouse for under $200 complete with licensed Win XP, 512Mb RAM,
40Gb HD. Add a free monitor and away you go.

Thats how I got my kids machine.

Cheers.

Here in Canberra at the weekend PC markets. I bought mine from the CIT Woden
market.

Most capital cities have similar markets and a few of the sellers will have
similar secondhand items for sale.

Cheers.

There are some here as well but all I've seen there are heaps of c**p
and over priced. These people also have parts which are priced, like ram
sticks at 2/3 full, if you need to take something back they never there
next time.

You may have a better class of hawker down there, we certainly don't here.

I'll sell you (or anyone else) a working Tower.
A Pentium 4, 3.00 with 1 gig of 400 RAM (2, 512 sticks) a liquid
cooled heatsink with heavy duty power supply. An 80 GIG drive, a
Radeon display card. A52x CD burner installed. keyboard, optical mouse
and network card for $300. Linux if you want but no Windows.

If you want a 19" (Samsung) LCD screen it's an extra $100.
Pick up from Brisbane or buy it off eBay later in the week. (It'll
probably fetch $550 on eBay incidentally)

burner and a 550w psu.

I'm sure I've got some 2.4GHz 478 Celerons at work. You are welcome
to one if it will do the job for you

It seems I've thrown a lot of them out but still have a 2.53 Celeron
and a couple of 2.66 Celerons which I'm never going to use.

Thanks Mike

Having a look at the supported CPU's I can't find that on the list but
if you could recheck and verify Ill use that. Also any DDR ram in the
same draw?

Often "not supported" simply means that it hasn't been tested and I
can't see any reason it wouldn't work. If you want to try it email me
(remove the spam traps) your postal address and I'll post one this
afternoon.

I still actively buy and use DDR RAM so don't have any spare.
