Here is a few from a road trip to Perth the Christmas before last.

I know the pano is a bit bent okay but "I" still like it, oh and the treetop
shot is about the trees not the sky.

Cheers.

Pete

Noooooo don't start another P&S vs SLR argument, I don't think I could take
it :-|

P&S vs SLR?   Who cares, it's all about the composition and light :-)

Indeed it is and I have been so busy in the last few months that I have not
taken any time to do much shooting other than family and caving/climbing
activities I have been running and that has meant only a few shots on the
go.

Narh.  Images too small to make any sense of IQ.
Just commenting on the great use of perspective,
colour balance and overall image "feel".

As we all should and above all keep it pleasant and constructive.

Actually all the above were taken with the old Pentax DS, still a lovely
little camera. Was out canoeing this afternoon and tried out a cheap
waterproof film camera, will post some if any turn out.

Looks like most in this group can play nice when they choose and makes for a
far more pleasant playground.

Cheers.

Cool!  Always had a soft spot for
that brand, since the LX and the ME Super.
Never got a chance to own one, maybe in
another life...

You can count on me to *always*  play
nice to others, IF they play nice to me.
But it's a two way street, as far as I'm concerned.

I have been collecting a few of the oldies and have MV-1, MG-1, ME Super x
2, KM (I originally bought one of these back in 1977 with a 55mm F1.8 lens)
and stil using the KM, usually filled with RealA but will try some Provia
next time I think. Nearly bought a couple K1000's with consecutive serial
numbers a couple of months back from a local guy but decided that I just
didn't need them.

Lovely work, Pete.

Do I recognise 'Smooth Pool', and Streaky Bay jetty methinks?  That
curved beach and headland looks familiar too, but I can't quite place
it....

Streaky Bay jetty is in there, very special that jetty, north facing jetty
on the south of the country, most unusual.

Smooth Pool, not sure which one you are refering to, the long curved beach
and headland is near to Streaky Bay, I guess that is the one, beautiful
area. Went down to Point Labaat (probably wrong spelling) and watched the
sea lions doing sea lion things, truly a great experience.

Hi, Pete.

'Smooth Pool' is one of the many coastal spots close to Streaky - and
I'm pretty sure that is the name of the area you have in your pano
shot.  It's on the same road that eventually heads to Point Labatt, I
think.

I used to work in the marine sciences in Port Lincoln and got to know
SA's west coast pretty well, but that curved beach had me until a few
moments ago - now I'm pretty sure it is one of the bays/headlands near
'Frenchman Bluff' (near the area shown in the "Tour 4" page below).
Fairly narrow sandy track to get there, iirc?

These shots of the region (several pages):
http://www.scieng.flinders.edu.au/biology/lmsc/tour/index.html
were all taken by me, back when I worked at the Lincoln Marine Science
Centre.  (Please note that the Flinders website team did the jpegging
and post-processing, not me! - the originals are not quite as
contrasty/blown as shown..)

If anyone wants the originals dug up (mostly slides), I can probably
find them here somewhere.  Some of the best pristine coastline in
Australia..  And no fighting for a spot on the beach even on the
hottest of days.  (O:

I liked them.  That pano looked well done.  Assuming it was
stiched from several shots.  Many of the panos I've seen you can
see the patchy colours in the sky where the photos have been
stiched.

The pano is 7 shots and I am not sure if it is showing some of the curvature
of the earth because it is so wide or the software has skewed off a bit.
This is a seriously lovely place for swimming, actually in the Southern
Ocean.

Here is a bigger version.

Cheers.
