Must be announcements season in Japan?

http://www.dpreview.com/

probably the worst kept "secret" of all camera makers?

:-)

Two very serious cameras, with a nice spread
of what promise to be superb lenses.

It's good to see at least one manufacturer
resisting the "more megapixels" nonsense!
I'll trade 12mp of LARGE sensors against
the smaller, lens sharpness sapping variety,
anytime!

No, I won't be selling my D80 nor any of my
film gear to rush out and get any of these.
But it's in my sights, at some later stage.

For the time being, I'm having too much
fun with the scanner and film as well as the d80!
;-)

Looks like a D3, at that price,(which should come down to street level)
on the agenda, so I may have to stop replacing my lenses with DX types.

I am suprised at the short time in which Nikon has released new cameras.

Also noticed that they have gone to a CMOS sensor in the D300.

they would have to, if they wanted to match Canon in sensivitity
and speed.  ccds have no place in advanced fast dslr cameras.
they are fine for entry level ones.

yeah, it shows in the crap lcd monitor, the awful
ergonomics and a few other bits too.  Besides,
it only uses crap Canon lenses.  I prefer my
Nikkors.
