I'm sure she would love it. It is amazing the imagery you are putting
up on the site. Good for you. Keep at it.

It took me a moment to come back to ground after seeing this one.
WOW!

Nah, it doesn't count as a pano just by cropping. You have to work at
it, "mate", dontcha now? At a minimum three panels stitched...

That one was 5 panels stitched.
I am finding that with the new and improved Photomerge command in CS3
that I am using PTGui less and less.

ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!  I sat here staring at it for the longest
time.  It's a masterpiece that I can't take my eyes off.  I can just
imagine myself there, listening to the birds.  Smelling the fresh air
and feeling that gentle breeze on my face.  HEAVEN.....that's what it
is.  I wouldn't want to come back down from cloud 9!
Thank you Bret, for giving me that piece of Heaven!

Normally, it's Hell that's known for its abundance of infrared radiation.

OTOH, according to the Bible, heaven is hotter than hell.

Isaiah 30:26 reads, "Moreover, the light of the moon shall be as the
light of the sun and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold as the
light of seven days."

Heaven receives 7x7 (i.e 49 ~ 50) times as much radiation from the sun
as the earth.

The Stefan-Boltzman fourth power law for radiation says (H/E)4=50

The absolute temperature of earth is 300°K (273°+27°). Solving for H
gives an absolute temperature for heaven of 798°K (525°C or 977°F).

According to Revelations 21:8, "But the fearful and unbelieving... shall
have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone."

A lake of molten brimstone [sulfur] means that its temperature must be
at or below the boiling point for sulfur, 444.6°C.

Therefore, heaven at 525°C is 80.4°C hotter than hell at 444.6°C

Hi Brett,

Generally I like your photos but infrared rarely does it for me, I think
this one is fairly ordinary by your usual high standards, not a lot of
interest in there really.

Cheers.

One man's meat is another man's poison.  IR is an art to me.  Bret's
work is dramatic, striking and simply put, beautiful.

Most certainly you are allowed an opinion, I simply gave mine, you had
already given yours. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong, I never meant to condemn your opinion.  I just
wanted to add that IR photography is a lot of people's favourite.  I
shouldn't have repeated myself about Bret's work though.  The only IR
photography I've ever done was with black and white film.
Thanks Pete,
Helen

Very nice!  I can't wait for the 1DS Mk3 to come out so that my 20D
(currently running as backup to the 1DS Mk2) can be converted to full
time IR.

You need to check your settings.  All the trees and grass are
coming out white, not green.  :-)

A very nice shot. I was looking at it, wondering how you got the color in
and then I noticed that you missed a spot of sky on the left side of the
image. You may want to color that in before you print it (if you plan to do
that). Nice work, even the gray sky spot isn't very noticeable.

I think you may find that this is a "false colour" IR image and that
the sky rendering like this is normal.  The grey spot looks like it
could possibly just be some high level cloud.

Cheers

No, I think it is a selection error. Now that I look again I notices at
least three other spots, two around a cloud column in the center of the
image that are obviously where blue sky should be. And again, I still think
it's a good image.

Yeah, I noticed that right after I posted it.  Sloppy Photoshop work,
that.
In the original conversion process all of the sky is blue.  Not
wanting blue clouds I tried to desaturate them.  I got a bit too
sloppy at the places you mentioned.  I've also been experimenting with
different colors for the ground and foilage.  This IR thing is still a
work in progress.

Bret,
I didn't love the blue skies in your last pano (the river bend),
but in this one, I think you've made a powerful, and correct,
choice.  Absolutely stunning!
