Steve Porter - 18 Jul 2007 11:06 GMT Julian, or Doug, whoever the f.ck you are, how about I come down to your office, or the Cleveland markets next time you're there, and we'll see what sort of coward you are. I'm a pom and you've just insulted me with that remark.
I've been following the crap between you and your so called bullies for the past few months and my take on the whole thing is you are the one stirring things up. Brett and the others were actually quite complimentary about some of your photos (sorry, images) when you were posting the pics of the day. That's something I've never seen you do about any of theirs. When they get bored and leave you alone, it gets quiet for a while and it's always you that is the first to post again. Always with the same crap repeated over and over. You deliberately bait people.
I don't give a f.ck whether Doug and Julian are two people or one. But if you are two, I can't help thinking that you have your head so far up Doug's arse that you're reading his mind from the inside.
Your arguments, the way you spell the same things wrong, even the writing style are identical.

I agree with what you said Steve. Doug/Julian/whatever-name-today always seems to jump in with both feet firmly intrenched in his mouth.
By the way, what is a pom or pommie? Just asking 'cause I have never heard the term before. That is what happens to the english language when seperated by an ocean.
Be well,

And Strines (citizens of Australia) are separated by two oceans from their mother country in many ways, one of which is the frequency of bathing. Hence, Poms come from the "land of the great unwashed", etc.

Being American, yet born in Ireland,(US army brat) I have some resevations on a lot of brits. But a lot of them are good folks. As for Strines...I have only come in contact with one that I would not care to ever meet or any of his sock-puppets. All the rest, I find to be a tough yet fair people.

This NG alone has shown there are stars as well as rotters/fuckwits/morons/yada yada from virtually every nationality. That's one reason I usually omit notice of same from my posts.
Have a good evening!

Rob - 20 Jul 2007 07:29 GMT >>>>(snip) >>>> [quoted text clipped - 21 lines] > Or possibly not, according to Wikipedia -- > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_words_for_British I see after looking at wiki that its there, besides what and how they try to twist it around. From what I have been told which has been passed down from my GG Parents, who came out from England on the Aberdeen in 1885, others were earlier, that's prior to 1912 mentioned, its been introduced as Pom and takes its roots as Prisoner Of Mother England, dating and flowing from the convict days. Whether or not the word came into slag as far back as 1900, certainly was derived from the past Australian history of transported convicts. Since you have mentioned it Ill now go through some old WW1 diaries an see if its mentioned there.
Also see in Wiki that its OK to call someone a Pommy Bastard since 2006 :)
Interesting tho.

As would the folks at alt.folklore.urban - so anything you find post here as well and I'd be very happy to pass on.

While urban legends (used to be old wive's tales) handed down from parents and grandparents (catch phrase at a.f.u. *is*, "this is my GRANDMOTHER you're talking about", after all), and data points citing a sighting (sorry) prior to references and FAQs, sightings "in the wild" (such as your post), but especially written evidence of usage will be welcomed by the etymologists interested in UL, and those updating dictionaries.
For instance, I've heard someone put forward that the Pom put down came from the French well before Australia was settled by Pommies. It was said they thought the pasty faces of the English reminded them of potatoes - la pomme de terre to the French.

You seem to be like the other kooks here and conveniently side step the fact Bret and his brigade of one followers stole Doug's images and set about on a course of threats and defamation that eventually led to him committing a criminal in attempting to crack the seller account we use. He also committed fraud when he used Doug's identity in an attempt make out the sites were Doug's. How much does he pay pommies nowadays to do his dirty work for him?
Your obscenities and threats have been duly noted and a complaint lodged with your ISP. "Pommie" has existed in Australian language since long before you were born. If you migrated here, this would not be the first time someone has uttered the word in your presence. Do you assault everyone who speaks it? Given that you may still be insulted when you hear it, despite a court ruling that is is NOT an offensive term, you still lack common decency in using profanities in a public forum along with threats of violence. Feel free to come to the Cleveland markets. The Police officer on duty nearby will welcome the break in boredom, arresting a loud mouth attempting to interfer with the conduct of one of the trader's business's. In the mean time, I'd suggest you look around for a new ISP.

So I think it is clear to all that he wasn't upset about being called a pom it was more the not human remark.
And, I doubt he will be a loud mouth at the markets, I think the only loud bit will be his fist connecting with your mouth. You are SCUM Douglas.
Another name change too I notice, You will get w.nker of the year this year for sure.
I hope I am around when Steve meets up with you. And I doubt his ISP will be taking much notice of you after the email I just sent them in regards to what you called him in a public group.
