actually, I think you will find one of the main advantages of the PRo1
filter is the thin ring..... possibly necessary to avoid vingetting with
such a wide angle.
A standard HMC should do the trick if you don't get any vingetting.. and
is a fair bit cheaper.

It's funny you should say that when some-one else just claimed the HMC
filters are crap and should never be used :-)
Actually I think you will find there is a difference in optical performance
too, and there are other models in the Hoya range as well.
