What can I say Daniel, I have seen several good pictures from but this
one is just boring. I get nothing from it, apart from the lady the
rest is bland and boring.

Is this truely your picture of the week, which means this is your
best.
You must have taken better over the last week. Is your picture of the
week taken in the last week or are you like that other wierdo that
posts here that claims his KPOTW is a picture of the week but one
showed Bob Hawke as PM of Australia opening the Sydney Harbor Tunnel.
(Actually go to his picture page and you will see naked pictures of
his Aboriginal wife giving birth in the home bath.)

Are you shooting with a film or digital camera? If it is digital most
of these camera's have a little icon of a garbage bin and when you
take a crap picture you can delete it right away.
This works well for several porposes, firstly these shots never make
it past your camera and secondly they never make it to the internet
for people to think think your normally high standards have slipped to
a below par quality.

How is your brother going with his photo's?  He seems to show a bit of
promise.

On the page it's "each monday a new photo".

The picture of the week depend of the shoots taken last time.

Film based cameras (24x36 and 6x6)

As you cant. If you don't like them, do not return to the website.
When I see a website with pictures that I dislike I forget the link.

The only problem with the rest of us using this theory is you keep
giving us the link every Monday making it very hard to forget.

I give you a challenge, start doing your post of the week but leave off
the link and see how many visit.

: Hello,
:
[quoted text clipped - 3 lines]
:
: Regards,

Are we supposed to be seeing the texture of the subject's hair or is there a
plastic covering over it with no texture to see? When the subject matter is
bland, fine detail may add a point or two in credits. Somehow I don't see
much in this particular image to award credits for.

This is one photograph where the rule of thirds should have been ignored and
more attention to detail should have been taken. The distortion from your
lens, Daniel, is detracting from what should have been a symmetrical pattern
in the paving. If they were all distorted at the same amount it may not have
been so bad but I am sorry to say this is not one of your better pictures.

As an aside Daniel... The rule of thirds which is a rule made to be broken,
was devised when artists had absolute control over the elements of a
picture. Photographs do sometimes benefit from using this rule but it by no
means governs composition of a photograph the way it governs composition of
a painting.

The people who defined rules of composition were masters of seeing light and
shade, adding objects and resizing existing objects to make their pictures
what they are. Photographers are lucky if they can even recognize subtle
shade, much less harness it to their advantage. It would be nice if you shot
more naturally lit images and discovered how to harness shadows as a picture
element.

Daniel....

I have to agree with the others.  This photo SUCKS.  All your photos SUCK.
Infact - you suck.

I honestly don't think you have any chance as a photographer at all - YOU
ARE SIMPLY THAT BAD.

Your brother certainly has more promise than your crap efforts.

I hope this helps you.

I have a question for you, it is a decent question and I request a
decent answer.

You post your POTW to aus.photo each Monday, you then reply Tuesday to
either thank the people that said it was good and the ones that tell the
knockers to shut up and you reply dribble to those that say your picture
is sh.t or tell you how to improve.

We don't see the name Daniel Rocha in our group again till the following
monday. Personally I think this is the reason so many people put sh.t on
you. Why don't you ever comment on the pictures posted by other members
of the group?
And before anyone tries the old  'no one else ever posts their pics'
have a look over the last 2 weeks  their has been a lot of comet
pictures, which were all great but did Daniel ever say  wow that is a
great shot or you could improve by .....

No!

I think you need to start contributing a bit more to aus.photo Daniel in
regards to other people posts or you will keep copping this sh.t

I think you have just proved yourself the fuckwit most have commented
that you are.

At no stage did I say everyone would find your pictures great but a lot
of the sh.t would stop with your threads if you added more to the group.

I suggest those that don't like your posts killfile you and those that
reply to you do the same to them.

I tried to help you but you wanted to be a smart arse.

Daniel...
If you stop posting here in aus.photo, the traffic statistics for the group
will drop by at least 30%. So why not just put your foil helmet on, set your
browser to read only French and run the gauntlet? eh!

The world need dedicate people and in the big picture it matters not the
slightest if their work is good or bad just so long as they keep at it. Most
really brilliant artists never get recognized in their own time. Who would
have thought the obnoxious womanising, drunkard... Picasso, would ever be
recognized, much less admired? Don't let then win Daniel. They'll only gain
strength if you do and then they'll do it to everyone.

Now I have f.cking head everything!!!

Comparing Daniel to Picasso?!?!?  Are you for real!?  What f.cking planet
are you from?!

Telling Daniel he has the potential to become the next Picasso is really not
helping this moron's ego.  In reality, Daniel would BE EXTREMELY LUCKY to
EVER get 999th place out of a1000th place comp.

Don't insult Picasso (dead or not) by comparing to Daniel.  Ive also hurt
myself from falling off my chair with laughter - so please stop with your
offensive comments.

And Daniel....a message for you.....YOU SUCK...don't forget it frog boy.

it lasted as long as the interest in one of Daniel's photos.... and the

Maybe for you Fred but the guy is a dedicated and persistent Photographer.
He's also determined and self funded. He needs to improve the pictures he
posts in some areas. He did have a nice photo last time.

I think it's terribly un-Australian to just slam him outright. I'll bet you
have discarded more photos than you've kept so don't be so quick to post
nasty comments lest you be called to judgment yourself. Keep in mind too, he
could have the cost of film and chemicals to cope with if he is still on
film, which would limit his shooting.

I think people now slam DR because when he's actually been given
constructive crit. he ignores it. (or seems to)

Dedicated or not but when he ignores constructive criticism and only
responds when someone says 'oh how nice" then he deservs all the crap he
gets.
I have also posted positive comments on composition but in all reality
his work is rubbish and does not deserve the tag "photo of the week"
It's insulting to intelligent people.
