This camera would seem to be a good choice for my needs and is very
well priced - which concerns me a little.  Would there be a reason for
this model to be so cheap?

See if you can find some comparison reviews, and pay attention to the
factors that matter most to you. Image quality is my main concern so I
avoided Fuji for my first P&S purchase, but when I wanted a compact I
found the Fuji 6.3MP F10 had better more detailed images than some 7MP
cameras on the market.

I've looked a reviews and opinions of this model and they all seem
favourable.  and I can buy it locally for $349 at Betta, which,
considering postage,  is as good as I can do online.  I have a Finepix
310 which I've been very happy with, but I've dropped it so many times
it's buggered.
Thanks for your views.

I notice that flickr somehow tallies camera usage by contributors  e.g.
http://www.flickr.com/cameras/ or   http://www.flickr.com/cameras/fujifilm/

Dunno if you find that data interesting or helpful.

Cheers

Interesting that the top 5 P&S cameras are all Canon, and 3 of the top 5
DSLR's are Canon. (by usage anyway)

list :-)
