Hi I wonder if someone can assist?

I just purchased at Cash Converters a Pentax SF7 with a Pentax SMC-F
1:1.7

I checked with the following extensive Pentax site but it appears that
it isn't an Auto focus lens. However, it seems to behave as it is when
attached to the SF7.

I actually wanted to use it on my Ricoh XR-M (I don't mind doing my own
focusing) which begs another question, on the XR-M the above lens seems
to behave in the same way as the other lenses I have with the RK mount
although it doesn't indicate the f-stop selected in auto. (If it's
indeed selecting one)

Which begs another question; I will buy the K10D early next year on an
OS trip. I've several rK mount lenses - semi auto. Any idea what
functions I can expect from them?

Thanks

The SMC-F is an autofocus lens.

The Ricoh mount has a different method of measuring aperture than Pentax.

Also note it is common for RK mount lenses to stick on Pentax because of
the pin system they use for aperture information.

Thanks very much for advice. I thought it was AutoFocus & as I want to
use the Ricoh glass with the K10D, that has saved me a lot of angst.
