I plan to take detailed close-up pics of 100+ shoes. Can anyone suggest a
good system of lighting up so the white balance and exposure of my macro
shots remain consistent?

Thanks in advance.

Firstly what style of lighting do you want to get on your shoes? For most
products its usually High Key with either continuous or strobe lights
outside a cacoon/light tent. Once your lighting is set up then the rest of
the consistency is with your camera. Set it to manual mode and custom white
balance and one you have metered your setting dont change them. Your other
shoes should also be placed in same spot as the first or else the light
intensity would increase on the light its closer to. Also once the lights
are set dont move them, reposition the camera only or else consistency is
lost.

ffs Punthorpe, I would at least thought you would have come up with
something about using the cameras hot-shoe. You're slipping. Are you under
stress at the moment?
