Some have got them in the US, but not me yet, maybe next week.

Afterall, Australia is a long way from the Pentax factory. :-(

I was thinking, yes the shout will be big and lous but quite probably I will
be off taking photos so you may not hear much for a day or two. Once I
recover a little I promise to start shouting at least a little.

Was talking to CRK's a few days ago - early Dec, or if we are lucky, end
of Nov. Can't wait to see how the 10 performs with the Pentax 16-45.
Then all i've got to do is convince SWMBO that it will be money well spent.

I have the 16-45mm on my DS. The good lady did not have to be convinced very
much,
she understands wants and needs where "want = need", she also enjoys all he
photos I take and the places we go to take them. :-)

C'mon, guys!  I want to hear a loud, convincing "WOOOOOP!"
when you finally get the blessed things!
Gotta keep some traditions going, darn it!

BTW:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!,
my coolscan9000 finally made an entrance!

For those used to standard flatrbed scanners!

LOL!  Yeah:
"The lid? Where is the lid?"

One thing: they're huge!   This thing is easily twice the
height of the 4990, same overall width/length.

First results at 2000dpi are here, if you want
to have a gander:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~nsouto/photos/
they are the ones dated Nov/06.
That's Fujicolor 160C, taken on a Zeiss r/f with
a Leitz "cron" 50-2 and a Voigtlaender Ultron 35-1.7.

Except for the "rex": that's velvia 100,
Nikon F4, 55-3.5 micro.  And the sunset:
velvia 100, F4, 28-2.8
The rex is not mine.  Wish it was...

Will start some 6x7 this weekend.
And some 4000dpi serious stuff.

Sorry, no dslr here.  Not yet, anyway...
;-)

None here either. The K10D is the first to excite me to the point where
I actually seriously want one and will start working on SWMBO to try to
get the release of funds. By the time the money gets authorised the K20D
will be out :-P
In the meantime, I'm trying to find someone local to process my E6,
since Vanbar don't supply the chemistry anymore (their website says they
do, but if you actually place an order it's a no-show). At the moment it
looks like I might have to trust it to mailorder to brisvegas or sidknee.

bugger!!  did you give madsens a try?
they stocked one of the 3-step kits until recently, IIRC.
if all else fails, send it to trannys.  both have
pointers here:

check the links on the right.

Pinewood in Mt Waverly (?) is an option.

Why didn't you just buy it from a US company online?

Because I am an anti US bum? Actually I prefer to buy locally so I get local
support, why would I ever do any different with a high dollar item, to have
to wait a week or so is really quite trvial, I am just making it a bit of
fun while I wait. :-)

Same reason its a long way to having make a return for warranty - and
there is not a great cost saving anyway. Plus you get Brownie points
from the local dealers.
