B&W lab in Melbourne

I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a lab in Melbourne for
35mm B&W developing and printing?

In particular, I'm after somewhere to develop half a dozen rolls of
Ilford Delta 3200 (some possibly pushed by a further stop). Ideally,
I'd also like them to make 6"x4" machine prints, preferably on an
optical (rather than a digital) minilab.

Background: they're for available light photos at a wedding reception.
The idea is that the client gets the machine prints to give them an
indication of what's available (6"x4" is big enough to judge
sharpness); any pictures they like are either hand-printed, or scanned
and printed digitally. It might seem like an odd way to do wedding
photography, but it has worked very well for me in the past.

I'm planning to shoot a couple of test rolls to try out the most
promising labs, but some starting points would be most welcome.

Apologies for repeating the question -- I posted about this in February
-- I'm just hoping somebody might come up with a recommendation this
time.

Thank you!

Paul.

have you tried Pinewood in Waverly?

failing that, I know a place that does B&W by hand, in the Doncaster
area, though the negs are not quite as 'clean'as  amachine process.

otherwise you have the options of Vanbar in Carlton (not tried, Nulab in
central melbourne.

regarding printing... I am pretty sure pinewood would h=use a digital
lab, same witht he place in Doncaster. I know Nulab have optical
equipment, though you will have to check about the cost of getting hand
made prints.

good luck.

My hand processing is cleaner than any machine ever invented!

Just a clarification, and apologies if this has been posted twice,

Pinewood has a Copal machine for optical B&W prints - for B&W
enlargements, they are done by hand.

Whilst we do offer digital prints from B&W, it's offered as a cheaper
alternative - we endeavour to convey to customers that this is not true
B&W, because it is printed on colour paper.

I hadn't even heard of them -- thank you, they look like a good option.

OK -- that makes a good short-list!

I think I've managed to brief my client to ignore the amount of grain
on the machine prints, so I guess I can get away with digital printing
now.

Many thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Paul.
