Of course you can, or a monopod.

Not sure what street photo's you are taking if you need a 70-200, but
whatever suits YOUR requirements is obviosly a good choice.

Sure, but the best lens choice will ALWAYS depend on YOUR requirements.
*I* find a faster lens more useful far more often for MY requirements.
I'm always amazed how many people think an IS lens will be a big help with
moving subjects.

I seriously doubt it, if the past is any indication.
But I'll stick with a 70-200 f2.8 anyway.

You realise you are talking to Daniel who's take on street photography
is to take photos of posters and call them his.
with his 70-200 he can take photos of billboards without a problem.
