I get a bit of passing trade from my pbase site, most to the US.

Obviously printing and shipping isn't a very economical method, so generally
I send the file direct to the customer for a paypal payment.
My latest sale was a B&W image that really needs to be printed on dedicated
B&W paper. I got recommendations from various forums that
http://www.mpix.com/ was the best for B&W, but they cant accept
international payment.

I've thought of a smugmug pro account (hate the domain name smugmug) as they
have a an auto photo selling service, but they pay you  my cheque (expensive
for smallish sums of money)

Does anyone have a better option, or should I struggle on doing it
manually.?

Ever tried having doing an auto pano image and using photoshop while you
are waiting.
