Last night I thought I would be funny after a few drinks and post a
disgusting picture pretending to be  Daniel.

This was meant as an attempt at humour and in no way meant to cause any
harm.  I knew everyone would have picked up it wasn't the real daniel and
had a laugh.

I was wrong, I will unsubribe to this group and never return.

Daniel, This was meant as a joke nothing more. I have stuck up for you in
the past and thought I would annoy the people that pic on you with this post
For this I am truly sorry.

Keep up the posting of your pictures and don't let anyone of these 'people'
stop you from taking these quality pictures.

Oh I was over it once i changed my name back the minute after I posted it.

It was the thick accented woman at bigpond that said I should apologise.

What I found the funniest was Daniel sits here week after week reading
people call him a loser and his photo skills are crap and he takes it. I do
an abvious joke and he complains to bigpond because the person who hangs
sh.t on him tells him to.

Have you checked Google Groups.  Daniel posts his links to other
groups, and doesn't get much in return.

Obvious joke to some people but to others it is offensive. Perhaps you
could have been less offensive if you'd posted a picture of a dog turd.

Neither, I'm just really pissed off with fuckheads like that cockspank
playing crybabies to a person's isp because they had the "nerve' to poke
a bit of fun at them.
Some of you jackals really need a life.
As for our french friend if he can't take the heat get out of the fire.
He steals people's pictures and claims them as his which IMHO is far
worse than what the OP of this thread has done.
I wonder if someone complained to the advertising company about
frenchie's thieving of their advertising and claiming it as his own?

If you don't consider it "fun",  don't use that word to define
what was done.  It was not "fun" and you know it perfectly well.
Stop weaseling out.

> Touched a nerve I see.

You're not intelligent enough to discern what a nerve is.

He did not.

What will be revealed, arsehole?  That you and a few
other jealous fuckwits here decided he had stolen
the photo and shouted so?  Since when what you say
makes it to "truth" as a given?

Your definition of "stolen" would class as plagiarism
ANY photo taken in a wide open space.

Nope only ones taken by others then attributed as their own original
work like Frenchie has done with that billboard.

You're so full of sh.t it's almost an embarassment you
call yourself Australian.  The ONLY reason you lot are
complaining about this guy is because he's French and
you lot don't like "frogs", OK?  A trait that defines

Oh, right: you're bwanna, is it?  f.ck off, then.

> I think the point was pretty obvious and had nothing to do with the

It did have to do with the nationality.  From the start, these fuckwits

did nothing else but use nationality "niceties" against this guy.
"Frog" was one of many.  In case you haven't noticed, the
guy has a NAME.  And it's not "frog".

Don't you DARE say they weren't used:
it's all in google for anyone who wants to check.

I don't give a sh.t if they like his stuff, if someone claims
it's stealing, whatever.  As soon as his nationality is
invoked with derogatory comments, the colour of the
thread changes.  To an ugly one that I don't care about.

And I make my point about that very clear.
If you don't like to hear it, then make darn sure no one
here uses derogatory comments about ANYONE's
nationality. Or else be prepared to hear the payback.

In case you haven't noticed, no one died and gave you
the right to say whatever you want unchecked.

This place is a two way street: you dish it out, you
better be prepared to cop it back.  Don't like it?
Well, it ain't gonna change...

If some knobhead had posted as Daniel Rocha but not used his sig there
wouldn't be a problem. Anyone could tell it wasn't the real Daniel it
used a tinyurl and had a different email address.

As someone else wrote, what if there were two Daniel Rocha's interested
in photography??  Could one complain to the others ISP about the other
ones mother using his name or do we let the oldest keep the name as they
had it first?

I think it is time to move on from this crap, Chock wasn't the first to
impersonate Daniel and from what I understand they are doing it to show
daniel that he is also impersonating someone by posting their work as
his own.

As this thread title states he has apologised and I think it is time to
move on.

Least he apologised, he could have just said to the ISP he had just got a
new wireless network and someone else in the building must have hooked into
it.

The ISP would have then said put a password on it. End of story.

Where the f.ck does it say you legally must post to a newsgroup with your
own name?

I can't see the problem with the guy imitating that Daniel poof.  What would
we ever do if there were say 2 "Jim Smiths" who posted?  Is one of them
going to be dobbed on cos some little sook gets upset?

What if my name was "Fred" ?  Does that mean I cant post to aus.photo cos we
already have 1 "Fred" ?  If my name was "Daniel" (how sad) - will I be
reported for imitating a french poof?

Daniel doesnt have copyright on his name...and I doubt any ISP would take a
complaint of a crybaby saying "such and such stole my name..boo hoo".
Telstra wouldnt respond that quick anyway!  It takes them a minimum of 2
weeks to do anything.

Bottom line is...if I wanna post under any particular given name...then I
will - until someone can show me where it states I must legally post using
my correct name?  And if thats the case, Fred, Chock, Kelpie, Joan, kosh etc
will all also be in voliation for not using their full name.

My final point...if I think Daniel's photos suck - I'll say so.  Im sick of
those pussies around here not game enough to say what they think.  Now can I
be reported for giving my opinion on someone's plagerised work?!

just not post mis-representation as someone else... especially such

So what if there were 2 Jim Smiths?  If they both post in the same
newsgroup, then is one classed as "mis-representation" as you put it?

For me to post under the name Daniel Rocha do you need to see my birth
certificate?  I was aware of any "rules" that said I can't use the online
name Daniel Rocha? (not that anyone would want to - you'd be labelled a
cheat)

get a friggin brain..... nobody EVER said you have to post under your

you... I think you would have a pretty legitimate reason to be pissed off!

Or do you bag the hell out of people.... then change your username when
everyone knows your a twat...

I vist here to talk about photogrpahy.... I spend a few seconds typing
out quick replies (as my typos can attest) and give the posts a quick
scan.... playing the sockpuppet game actaully takes work and
effort....... get a life!

Ahhhh so those ethics would also apply to Daniel Rocha, who has, on the odd
occasion posted his "picture of the week" only to be fingered as a fraud for
deliberately miss-representing the photo as some of his own work, I don't
see any threads as longs as this one arguing the ethics of just such a
thing, and I have been lurking and learning here for a while now.
While I in no way condone the OP's action, I think its time a few here take
a good hard look at themselves in the mirror, it will give them an idea as
to what a hypocrite looks like.

then you will have noticed I was also bagging the hell out of him for
doing this.

Actualy, I just looked at the August 8th thread from Daniel and I see your
name is conspicuous by its absence :-)
one post in the July 31st thread along the lines of a pat on the back,  and
then 3 in the July 28th thread, and all about the merits of setting up
monitors. Oh and then we get to July 24th (does daniel know how long a week
really is) and we finaly get some critisisim, but no, its not for the "Photo
of the Week" its for some other pics buried in the site somewhere
got a mirror handy ??

anyone with half a brain would realise that D R doesnt post using "TinyURL"
and would probably clue on pretty fast that it was an attempt at humour, a
pretty lame attempt none the less, I didnt get to see the offending picture
as it was removed by the hosting web site, but I gather it was a PS job
anyway.

why flog a dead horse... others had kicked the boots in quite
sufficiently.... he should have gotten the point!

actually.... if you looked a little harder..... a genuine critique,
followed by the realisation it was not original..... and several related
posts.
in regard to a reply on the 8th... sorry, I have a life.... look at the
9th of August..... quote "photo's of photo's don't count" and something
about taking photos of painings to become a painter!

Anyway, all this because some twat was masquerading and posting porn
under his name.....  actually... whoever did the masquerade (i don't
care to waste my time finding out) put Danieal back into a position of
strength. His photo 'style' was being nicely berrated.... he was getting
more and more isolated... and whoever whent and masqueraded under his
name (intending to make him look stupid) resulted in people defending
him.... all cause someone had to go and be silly rather than attack his
lack of originality.....which had it coming!

> own name?
Nowhere.  And I didn't say it either.  Any need for the f-word - why so
angry?

> I can't see the problem with the guy imitating that Daniel poof.
Do you run a business?  What is its name? - because I'm going to start
sending out stuff under that name in your area.  OK with you?
Strangely, inexplicably there are laws against that.  Golly, I wonder
why?

> What would
> we ever do if there were say 2 "Jim Smiths" who posted?
What on earth does that have to do with it?  The post was made by
someone deliberately using another person's name and copying their
signature.

> What if my name was "Fred" ?  Does that mean I cant post to aus.photo cos we
> already have 1 "Fred" ?  If my name was "Daniel" (how sad) - will I be
> reported for imitating a french poof?
Why do you repeat an irrelevant analogy?  Re-stating it doesn't make
your point any better.

> Daniel doesnt have copyright on his name...
Nor do I.  I'm continually being mistaken for others with the same
name.  So what?

> and I doubt any ISP would take a
> complaint of a crybaby saying "such and such stole my name..boo hoo".
I'm afraid you are completely wrong.  ISP's look very dimly on people
who deliberately use someone else's name in a way meant to mislead or
discredit.  Which is quite different to having the same name.

> Telstra wouldnt respond that quick anyway!  It takes them a minimum of 2
> weeks to do anything.
Based on your personal experience with what section?  (O;  I don't like
Telstra either, but they react quite quickly to ISP abuse.  They have
to, especially if it involves DOS attacks and the like.  Are you
accusing 'fake daniel' of lying?  Why would he do that?

> Bottom line is...if I wanna post under any particular given name...then I
> will - until someone can show me where it states I must legally post using
> my correct name?
Shall we repeat the bleedingly obvious? You can call yourself
*whatever* you like.  But if you *masquerade* as someone else with a
view to discredit them, then you are likely to be pulled up.  That's
why the losers who do this sort of thing regularly use anonymous
reposting methods.  Those that do post anonymously or change their name
frequently have to accept and enjoy the respect that brings...  (O;

> And if thats the case, Fred, Chock, Kelpie, Joan, kosh etc
> will all also be in voliation for not using their full name.
Like I said, repeating it won't make it any more applicable...

> My final point...if I think Daniel's photos suck - I'll say so.  Im sick of
> those pussies around here not game enough to say what they think.
Gosh, how brave!  I'm certainly impressed!

> Now can I
> be reported for giving my opinion on someone's plagerised (sic) work?!
No.  Did anyone say otherwise?  Or *has* someone reported you for this?
Why would you ask such a question then?  Oh, I see, satire...  (O:
