Hi folks,
I'm flying to Brisbane this afternoon, bit unplanned and will be there until
Wed morning. I'll have the tripod and XPan, a few rolls of Velvia 50 and
the desire to use the buggers.
I'll be staying in the city and have a car. If anyone can make some
suggestions - all types are OK - I'll be most appreciative. I won't have
oodles of time but may tomorrow (Sun) take a spin up to the Glasshouse Mtns.
Many thanks,
Dave E (Sydney)
(I'm bracing myself - it was an fairly open question I must admit...)
:-)

I recommend the late afternoon for the Glasshouse mountains.

A nice area given little attention is the rock face opposite the city
gardens. The weekend sees plenty of people rappelling down the cliffs
and with the moored boats, barbeques at the foot and all the action at
dusk, it would make an interesting and challenging project to capture
it.
I have in the past done it with bracketed exposures and software
blending. I've seen it done with a 4x5 and 2 exposures. They've put the
old warship at Southbank back in its dry dock. Reversed in this time.
Interesting shot over the bow if you have some imagination. Rise early
because Sunday is likely to be a brilliant sunrise. Not much in the way
of sunsets in Brisbane.
