Sydney, northern side - tranny processing

Hi all,

for years now I've been using Vision Graphics for my tranny processing.
They are just up the road and always do a wonderful job, leaving me
wondering why they cop flak every now and then.

As of very recently, they no longer process in Crows Nest but send to
Redfern, meaning the old routine of dropping the rolls off by about 10am,
meeting a mate for a coffee and then picking up in a couple of hours is no
more. :-(

So if you know of a pro lab close to Chatswood with a fast turnaround, I
would be very grateful to you if you could throw some suggestions at me.

Cheers,
Dave E (Sydney)

Well, VG have always been very open minded, understanding and well...
they've never asked any of those 'tough' questions.

Yep - do it yourself  :)

Your not one of those people who bought a digital SLR, reduced the
amount of slide film needing to be processed, forced the businesses to
down size, yet still expect the same service to be maintained.

Hmmm - sounds like a great idea.

Well, actually... um... *looks at the ceiling* I suppose I used to be.
However I've had something of a colour reversal in recent years, as it were.
I choose Velvia!

No, it's just a shame I suppose.  I try to embrace change but in this case,
I'll have to work really hard to justify hanging at the cafe between 10am
and 3:30pm!  Of course I could nip home to Chatswood (about 5 mins up the
road) if I really have to do some work...

Cheers,
Dave E

They will be able to help you.

Thanks, but actually I prefer the good folk at
http://www.bangkokplasticsurgery.com/ - sabay dee kup.  So much friendlier
and a hell of a lot closer to Chatswood!  Actually I'm off there in a few
weeks to travel through Burma - so I may be posting in Sep as Davine.  You
never know...

As for the *real* question, I think I'll give Digital Max a go.  Pretty
close and I believe they process on site.

Dave E

Give Trannys a call:

www.trannys.com.au

their main film development guy had a heart attack earlier this year,
but he might be back in action.  I used them for my last big batch
and their slide development IMHO was better than visiongraphics:
the images were certainly more contrasty and clear.

They are in Crows Nest.  Get the number from the site and give
them a call?

sorry to reply to myself: just gave them a call.
They still do slide development inhouse.

Which reminds me: I got a stash to develop,
it's off to them on Monday morning then!
