Anyone know how good the RAW compression is on the D200? Manual says there
is very little loss - that interests me big time - I am off on a trip for 3
months O/S with a wedding shoot thrown in, so I will not have ready access
all the time for downloading...

Compressing RAW's wont save you much space.

In your OS adventures, I'd advise either buy a big HDD and also burn to DVD
and mail them home, else stay at a mates place with a broadband connection
where you can FTP them somewhere safe.

There's no way you'll do it all on CF's (compressed or not) - maybe if you
shot in Basic mode on a 4 or 8 Gb card but thats folly.

Other option is to use a film camera.

Also what about batteries ?

Btw: make sure you passport is up to date   8^)
