I saw in a UK magazine mention of a ;

(1) Manfrotto MN303 tripod

and a

(2) Kaidan QPXL leveling base.

Does anyone here know if/where either/both of these are available in
Australia ?

If not then what would be comparable that is available ?

Regards, John.

They are pretty expensive and unless you really need one a lot are very much
overkill. That said they can really make a difference. Fletchers carry the
Manfrotto gear in Australia. I have taken some pretty reasonable panos using
the steady handheld method.

I know, but at my age I prefer to try and avoid tedious tasks if I
can.

I suspect they would. I have a good pan and tilt tripod but even with
a spirit level on the camera I found it difficult recently to do a
good series of shots for a join up (on uneven ground). When moving the
camera around 360 degree I found the series of photos tended to not
keep the horizon level. Simple in theory not so simple in practice.

Thank you.   :-)
