Well isn't that strange... I looked at your site originally at work and
got a screen full of pop-up advertising, and windows that opened when I
closed the pop-ups so naturally I got a little annoyed. (And I spent
about 2 hours looking at other sites at work, yes, working hard :), and
it didn't happen on any other site).

I just looked at your site again at home (where I have Norton Internet
Security 2006) and there were no advertising pop-ups.

I apologise for my previous comments, and wish you all the best with
your photography... (btw I love the one of the horse... )

So, what are all the ilead.itrackit.it pop-ups al-Farrob.
Better check again eh?

Well, check so many times as you feel like, and if you don't trust the
site, you simply don't open it. I am becoming tired of paranoid people.

I invite you to come, and you're welcome, but if you don't want to
come, you are free.

That's all!

I visited your site and got a pop-up (actually a pop-under, even worse).
Never again - plonked.

Not an accusation al-Farrob, it was an advisory to check why there are
pop-ups/pop-unders on your site. Maybe it's because of the counters, or
the links to the top 100 sites etc. I'm not paranoid, I know they're all
after me. :o)

Rather than fob people off, maybe it would be better to check out why
people are claiming there are things happening on your pages that you
don't seem to know about.

Cheers,
Gryph

I don't know what goes on in your system and I am not going to find
out, all I know is that my site has no pop-ups, no pop-unders, none of
the kind.

Definitely pop ups.  I am running Firefox on Linux, got a pop up about
some sh.t to help me stop smoking (which I don't do anyway).

BTW nice photos.

Firefox blocked a popup when visiting your page al-Farrob.  My /guess/ is it
is the javascript counter you have at the bottom which is launching the
pop-ups.

A google for SiteMeter and popups has a few relevant hits.

I was reading the last post and was thinking exactly the same.
I have links to sitemeter and webstats

I will deactivate one of them to see what happens

Thank you very much

A google search for Webstats and pop-ups also has a lot of stuff, so I
decided simply to take away the counters.
Now the site has only static links.

Thank you very much
an my apologies to everybody :)

Thanks al-Farrob. I should have read all these follow-ups before posting
my last reply about paranoia. See, I told you I knew they were after me!

Oh, and yes, I too like your photos.

I run firefox
No popups
I ran explorer
No popups
I'm on a mac so maybe thats a reason I don't see any.

Al-farrob is not one of those, haha.  You can go there
without the slightest worry in the world: his site
is safe from junkware.  Check it "view source" if you don't
trust my words.

Ah yes: you see, I've got all popups turned off and most of
the Javacript stuff disabled.  So, even when external url popups
show up in a site, they don't usually do much.
Then again, I lose a lot of the web's "multimedia rich"-ness.
Something I don't miss, anyway...
;-)

However, I know al-farrob is not the kind of guy to intentionally
engage in that sort of marketing stuff.  And his photos rock,
have a look at them.

Prolific, too.
Try googling "al-farrob".

Yes, he takes photos and participates in a lot
of photographic places.  Is that a problem?

Of course not.
I was making an observation, in my mind an interesting one.

If I google my name, *I* don't appear until page 5 or so.
Al-farrob is the *only* result for the first few pages "his" google results.

It could be the unusual name, I suppose.
Then again, mine is even more unusual and it
shows a lot more...  Aw bugger: it's google,
who knows?

Thank you, my friend.
I am starting to believe that I should change my nickname to Jack, or
John, oh some of the kind so that some people (a few, in fact) can
trust the site :)) Just kidding.

Well, for this time it was I who was wrong, and...

It was in this Australian news group, that somebody warned me of the
problem and that somebody helped me to solve it, so....
I will not change it for now :))

Keep your name al-Farrob, it's a cool name. Far more interesting than
Jack, or Bill, or John, or Brad, or Fred. But not as cool as Hakeem or
Manuel...
(joke)
:o)
