I am not so sure of that. While the D200 looks great on paper, it seems to
be failing in some key areas. If you read RobGalbraith's review of the 30D
(http://www.robgalbraith.com) you will see....
"Don't take this as a recommendation of the D200 over the 30D. For one,
we've only used a preproduction 30D, and then only briefly. More
importantly, we've shot the D200 and 20D side-by-side for available light
basketball over several weekends this winter, and the 20D is by far the
better camera for this purpose. Not only were the ISO 800 through ISO 3200
frames massively cleaner and more usable, the percentage of in-focus frames
was signficantly higher. In fact, we've ruled out using the D200 for this
sort of assigment again. So, we don't think Nikon has in the D200 a camera
that's a clear winner over the upcoming 30D by any means."
Group the noise, AF and well reported banding issue together and the D200
starts to look a bit dodgy IMO.
I think many are ticked that it's not 10mp, but I wonder if they realise
just how little a difference that really makes??

Not that big a difference really.

I think if you want better than 5fps, then the 1D Mk2 is the camera for you.
As for the buffer, they did increase that quite substantially.

Would be nice, but I think a better system than those "shake the sh.t out"
mechanisms is required and perhaps more R&D time is needed on those.

1DMk2 territory again

If I was about to buy a 20D, I would hold off and wait for the 30D, as the
tweaks that have been made will make a huge difference in usability IMO. So
much so, if I wasn't about to retire my 20D to backup status, I would update
to the 30D myself.

I'm just waiting confirmation of a 'sub2k' price for a multiple
purchase, so your price for a single item is great too.
