Hi all,
I've moved from Melbourne to Sydney. In Melbourne I used Camera House
on Elizabeth St, and their prints (tho expensive) were always crystal
clear with a lot of detail, good colour balance and matt finish paper
that felt nice and heavy in the hand. (Canon EOS 50 with a variety of
good quality, tho non L-series lenses)
Since I've been in Sydney, my prints seem limp, with poor detail. Paper
seems flimsy. Colours seem dull.
Can anybody recommend where to go in Sydney for colour and C41 B&W
prints? Somewhere in the Ashfield-Ryde corredor would be nice, but I
can go to the city if required.

In an attempt to upset lots of people -- limp, flimsy and dull - sounds like
Sydney itself.

Where did you go to print ?
VisionGraphics is good [North Ryde]
or Platinum Imaging or something like that down in Paddington.

Visiongraphics have a few offices sprinkled around the
place. Trannys is in StLeonards and quite good as well.
I use them both. They have websites with maps and
office locations, try them?

I used Camera House in E. St in March when I was there on holiday, and
they are using a Frontier machine, with Fuji paper. If you look on the
back of their prints you will see 'Fuji Crystal Archive' shadow-printed
theron.
Find a processor in Sydney that has a Frontier and you should be ok.

I'd back what a few of the others have said here, vision graphics is
the way to go. They use Frontier machines too, and a few photo shops
will send stuff off to them for you (eg Photo Riesel in the city).
