Hi, I have an order for in 40" prints. Ive checked photo king, and their B&W
paper is max 30".
Does anyone know where I can get larger, or, has anyone tried doing B&W on
colour paper (which is larger)
It just a matter of doing test strips until you eliminate the cast?
Cheers..

I've never been happy with B&W prints made on colour paper
and I spent some time with test files of greyscale patterns.
One thing I found if you want to go down that road is wait
24 hours before you appraise the cast. I found the colour from
the 2 photo labs I was testing took about 24 hours to stabilise.
What about finding someone with a inkjet whit the multi tone
black inks? I have never seen a print from one but many people
seem happy with them.

Well I phoned around a few places who do laser type stuff, and the price
really jumps.
About 3 times the cost from photoking. I'm thinking of putting a very light
sepia wash through the print, should this kill any cast?

The last time I processed a B&W print 1200 mm wide, I developed it in a
couple of dishes I made from plastic concrete underlay and some 15mm
pine shelving!

I used to do my big prints in a couple of large wall paper trays.
Sliding the paper through the tray. Messy. Glad I never did many.
