Minolta IR-1 question

The receiver for the Minolta IR-1 remote set has what appears to be a
battery test button. It is marked B.C. Is that what it is, and what is it
supposed to do? The set works perfectly on all three channels, but I'm
unsure about that button.
Anyone know?

That is a battery check button. A light should light up when working
properly.

Thanks, Colyn, but where would that light be? The button is so tiny that a
finger would have to cover it completely to depress it.

You have to check the battery on both the transmittor and reciever.
Transmitor: Turn on power. If the pilot light takes more than 5
seconds to light replace the batteries.

Reciever:Make sure the mode selector switch is set to "c" or "s" then
press the battery check button. The operation indicator light should
light up. This is the red light that lights when you activate the
transmittor.

Thanks very much, Colyn.
What I had not done is to turn the mode selector switch is "c" or "s" before
pushing the button. It all works perfectly.
The whole set was marked demo and came from Cameta Camera on eBay. Looks
like brand new. All cables, cases, brackets included. Everything but a user
manual. Not a bad deal for $60-something bucks.
Gonna be some fun set up near a bird feeder or nest.
Again, I appreciate your help.
Anyone else use one of these wireless remotes and have any suggestions for
subject to shoot?
